Bismillahi-r-Rahmāni-r-Rahīm.
The Meaning of Ahmad
In the name of Allah, The Beneficient, The Merciful. All praises to Allah, the Lord of the world and the Creator of the universe. May the blessings of Allah be upon the great apostle and the seal of all the Prophets, Our Master, Muhammad ﷺ as well as his entire household, his companions and the whole Muslim Ummah.
The status and the high rank of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as well as his pure qualities, excellences and good virtues are as clear as the day and undisputable, which as a result has led the believing Muslims to name themselves and their children his beautiful names , and also in accordance to the sayings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
It is stated in Tibrani that the Holy Prophet Sallallaho Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam said, "Keep the names (of your children) on my name and not on my Kunniyat (Title)."
In accordance to the Arabic Grammar, the name 'Ahmad' has its root from three letters, 'h','m' and 'd', which means to thank or give praise. Ahmad means 'The one who constantly thank God' or 'The highly commendable'.
The name 'Ahmad' was mentioned once in the Holy Qur'an, it is a name which has been given to the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ before his birth by Allah, on the tongue of Prophet Isa (Alaehi'Salām -A.S). Qur'an 61:6 says that:
"And remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, o children of Israel, surely I am Allah's Messenger unto you fulfilling that which is before me of Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad. And when he came to them with clear proofs they said, 'This is clear enchantment"".
It was also reported that before the birth of Rasūlullah ﷺ, there was no one with such a name except the priests who named their children 'Ahmad' after hearing about the prophecy, in hope that their children might be the foretold 'Ahmad'. The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned in an Hadith where he declared himself 'Ahmad'. He said :
“I have many names: I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am al-Mahi through whom Allah obliterates unbelief, and I am Hashir (the gatherer) at whose feet people will be gathered, and I am ‘Aqib (after whom there would be none), and Allah has named him as compassionate and merciful.”Sahih Muslim.
Just like the best of Mankind who possessed great qualities and excellent virtues, many with the name 'Ahmad' are known to also have the following characteristics:
The Virtues of "Ahmad":

▪️ Intuitive,
▪️ Oneness,
▪️ Idealistic,
▪️ Philanthropy,
▪️ Independent,
▪️ Perfect.....
